This movie is based on the novel of the same name by Michael Punke. It tells about Hugh Glass, a frontiersman in 19th-century America who gets mauled by a bear and left for dead after being attacked by Native Americans, but continues to live with all his physical senses though he has lost everything else. He is now intent on avenging himself against those who abandoned himHowever, due to an injury he sustained that caused his death, he was forced to hunt for food with only one arm that had become dysfunctional. He then finds a young boy who was abandoned by a group of men from his tribe when he was injured. Glass teaches the boy how to survive in the unforgiving wilderness and to seek revenge against those who left him for deadThe movie received praise from critics and was also a commercial success at the box office. The Revenant is a 2015 American epic survival drama film directed and co-written by Alejandro G. Inarritu, produced by Leonardo DiCaprio, and distributed by Fox Searchlight Pictures.
