This movie is based on the novel of the same name by Michael Punke. The Revenant is a 2015 American epic survival drama film directed and co-written by Alejandro G. Inarritu, produced by Leonardo DiCaprio, and distributed by Fox Searchlight Pictures. It stars DiCaprio, who also produced the film with Jennifer Davisson Killoran and Jon Kilik. It was filmed from November 2014 to March 2015 in Alberta Canada on locations including Wapiti Lake, the Athabasca River valley, Fort McMurray, Old Fort Macdonald in Pacific Spirit Park in Vancouver's Stanley Park and Mount Assiniboine Provincial Park. The film premiered on October 8, 2015 at the TCL Chinese Theatre.
